Katz-Moses Woodworking is a proud distributor of Suizan Japanese saws. This is the smaller 7 inch Ryoba Double Sided Hand Saw. This is my (Jonathan’s) personal favorite economical choice for all around hand sawing. I really like the fact you can do rip cuts along the grain (large tooth side) and cross grain cuts (fine tooth side). I also really like the thick, no slip polypropylene handle that adds weight to the saw, it’s razor thin kerf and sharp edge. Other saws have a bamboo handle which shows dirt easily and makes the saw significantly lighter and cut slower.
JAPANESE STEEL: All SUIZAN Japanese saws are made of top quality Japanese steel. It uses high quality Japanese steel, which makes cuts to be sharp.
MADE IN JAPAN: All SUIZAN products are manufactured in Japan by Japanese master craftsmen. Suizan has a 100 year old history of making Japanese hand tools.

I have been used to using the «standard» push saw since the first time i used a saw as a little boy back in the 60’s.. All this time it has been a way more efficent way of cutting wood originating from Japan. Many here at Katz-Moses is probably saying: «Used the pull saw for years. Old news.» the thing is that as I talk to friends and aquantances, they have no clue at all that the pull saw is up to 3 times as efficent and «deadly accurate» with it’s slim razor sharp blade. I have found the pull saw in stores and online shops here in Norway but there are little to no advertising to it’s vast benefits compared to the standard push saw usage. So, a big thank you to Katz-Moses and Tamara over at 3x3 custom for promoting and showing me this excellent family of pull saws
Works perfectly! The pulling action allows me to be much more precise (I always struggled with accuracy using a "push" saw), and the incredible sharpness of them makes cutting dovetails by hand a breeze, especially when used along with the km dovetail guide.
I've really enjoyed the saw so far. It is my new every day, all-purpose saw.
Fast clean cuts.
I have several western style saws up to the $400 range that I've used for dovetails and such. I gave this a try on a whim and it instantly became my favorite! The cuts are so clean and tight! Was easier to use as well! I'm interested in trying more suizan saws now.
