Need to look at this more but it seems the engraved wording on the top of the jig and the shape of the post are not in agreement. 90* engraving gives a angled reference on the post for example. Wondering if this one may have slipped through QC and marked wrong. I’d like to discuss this with someone but there is no phone number to call with. The product has potential but until we figure out what’s going on I cannot reccomenc it. Feel free to call me John Edwards
I’m really pleased with my KM saw guide. I’m a weekend woodworker and don’t cut them often enough for good muscle memory. I’ve only been able to get good results with a bandsaw jig in the past. This is much more satisfying to use, quieter, and faster too! I highly recommend this jig. I used mine with a western style saw. I haven’t tried with a Japanese saw yet but will be buying one soon.
I've only used it as a trial or practice so far but plan to use it on a drawer next week. So far it seems very good for guidance cutting the tails (I do tails, then pins). I did glue sandpaper to the stem. otherwise you're juggling the slippery little devil all over the shop. I expect it will improve my hand cut dovetails.
Great it's accurate, easy to use. Just a side note, I glued 120 grit sandpaper to the guide post for better holding properties.
