How to Prevent Safety Glasses from Fogging Up (Quick Tip)

How to Prevent Safety Glasses from Fogging Up (Quick Tip)

Safety glasses only keep you safe if you can see. And foggy lenses really throw a wrench into that whole affair.

Unfortunately, this leads to many people not wearing their glasses…

Which is definitely not a good idea.

Here’s a simple home remedy for foggy goggles that hopefully keeps you wearing your PPE — and all it takes is a bar of soap.

Rub a bit of soap all over the inside and outside of the lenses.

Then use a clean, non-scratch cloth to buff out the soap until the lenses are perfectly clear.

The thin layer of soap will help prevent them from fogging up.

And though it’s not a long term solution, it’s definitely better than not wearing your goggles.

Can you imagine having safety glasses that never fog up? No need to imagine — you can get them in our store.

These 3M Solus 1000-Series Safety Glasses are made for heavy-duty work environments and come with a Scotchgard Anti-fog Coating that does NOT fog up.

Seriously. I even held them over a cauldron of steaming water — and no fog.

On top of that, they have impact protection, scratch resistance, and a comfortable modern look.

Even better? They’re ridiculously affordable (just see for yourself).

I keep a small bottle of RainX Anti-Fog in my shop. Works perfectly on any goggles/glasses and is very cheap and small to store.

Spit works until you get an eye infection. Bar soap takes a lot of work to “polish off”. I use a drop of baby shampoo, rub it around then rinse them off. Problem solved, problem staying solved.

Well, I’m hoping this message gets to you as my two previous emails on your contact page were never responded to. I bought two pairs of these no fog glasses because you made them sound so fantastic. I found that I cannot wear them because they are just too uncomfortable. The nose piece just digs into my nose so much that it is impossible to wear for more than 2 minutes. I tried to reach out to you for a possible solution, but again, no response. I would love to get a refund. I will gladly send your glasses back to you.

Used to cut a raw potato in half and rub the the ‘white’ on the inside glass of my mask when scuba diving. Not many divers carried a sack of potato’s though, so the next best solution was to spit in the mask.

Thank you!!! I have prescription safety glasses and they fog about 0.5 seconds after putting them on. I’m trying this tip next time I need to wear them.
